ai in medicine

Healthcare is about the prevention, care, and restoration of health. It includes the right way to maintain a good hygienic environment and balanced diet, so next time don’t forget about taking the public health campaigns and educational workshops.

The diagnosis, treatment, and prescription of drugs are all done by qualified medical professionals because medical care is a subset of healthcare. It includes administering medications, keeping an eye on vital signs, and running diagnostic body exams.

AI incorporated in health and medical care with Importance

ai in health care

It greatly increases productivity, automates work, and saves time in many different industries, allowing staff to concentrate more on their main responsibilities. After COVID-19, when it became clear that there was a need for medical personnel as well as a requirement to retain our distance and isolate ourselves, generative AI gained admiration and now the clearest illustration of this today is Open AI, It not only contributes to writing, research, questionnaires, and graphics but also help in scaling multiple sectors including medical and health sectors and they are currently providing tailored system generations that might coordinate with your industry and aid in reaching objectives.

In the same way, generative-AI produces a multitude of applications, and additional possibilities are expected to arise in the coming years. Illustrated below are a few cases.

Enhanced Productivity and automation

Thanks to services that use AI help in administrative tasks like documentation, claims, authorizations, patient intakes, and basic calculations already being explored and tested.

It truly helps a lot to save time and assist during emergencies at hospitals and dispensaries.

Enhanced clinical results

improved clinical results and gave a preview of a better future with more accurate and effective health and medical operations from diagnosis to high-quality care delivery and patient monitoring.

One noteworthy example is the ability of medical experts to spot tiny patterns and irregularities that could be challenging for the human eye without advanced machine-learning models.

AI in Pharmaceutical Industries

ai in pharmaceutical industry

The use of AI in pharmaceutical businesses is changing the industry by drastically accelerating formal manual manufacturing processes. Additionally, it contributes to the better conduct of clinical trials, the acceleration of drug innovation, and Pharmaceutical companies are transforming the market by using AI to significantly speed up formerly manual manufacturing processes.

Here, the examples of some of the leading pharma industries who making their way to AI synergistically to improve healthcare productivity like Novartis, Pfizer, Sanofi, and, Jansen with the rapid development of new medications, clinical analysis and trials, and manufacturing during the times of SARS-COV-2 and still making progress.

Improved Patient care

No doubt, artificial intelligence is helping patients with a great deal of care. Analyzing their prescription errors, and their lab reports, and helping in better identification of complex diseases overall improves both inpatient and outpatient hospital care, so in the upcoming time, E-Health will take over all complexities in healthcare and medicine. As the healthcare system improves every day, we will act quickly to prevent medical conditions from getting worse.

Robot-Assisted Surgeries

robotic surgery

Recently robotic surgery gained popularity in the world and now every developing hospital is start its way to implement AI and digital health systems. Every developed hospital in various countries has tested the robotic surgery technique including Japan, China, the US, Taiwan, and some Asian countries including Pakistan, and India. Did you know, that the first Robotic surgery was performed in 2018 by a joint venture of US & and Sri Lankan surgeons on May 14 which later expanded and now gained popularity?

AI-Applications in the health and medical fields

Every day the world advances, and along with that comes new fresh difficulties that are just waiting for us to take on. Generative-AI continues to expand with new faces in the form of applications. To implement AI in different applications for the welfare of mankind.

We should remember a few things to take the first few steps.

  • Dig deep into innovative approaches and formulate a basic business framework that would outstand AI strategy and span the whole organization.

  • Empowering Data Management with Analytics Tools to unleash the capability of generative-AI and construct a resilient data infrastructure.

  • Consult a resource person or subject matter expert who focuses on directing the application of AI while keeping an eye on other prospects with possible risk issues.

  • Establish seamless interoperations of Systems and data for AI, promoting collaboration with regulatory bodies to co-create solutions that meet goals and objectives

Hope you get an idea of the startup of AI, let’s now talk about some of the applications, so you can analyze the pace of AI and digital health in the growing world.

Google Med Palm 2

google med palm2

Google Med-PaLM 2’’ is another breakthrough in healthcare. It’s an Integrated language model made by trained Google specialists and can answer med-questions.

The LLM adapted to medicine, known as Med-PaLM 2, aims to be a medical assistant who clarifies user doubts with a high degree of accuracy and has become a well-known benchmark for assessing performance in responding to medical questions similar to those on the USMLE (US Medical Licensing Examination). In fact, with a performance of 86.5%, it is considered among the most expert language models till now.

Lirio

Lirio is an artificial intelligence platform for living an organized and sustainable life that combines behavioral science with artificial intelligence. Through person-centered communication techniques, it encourages people to advance on their paths to improved health. The platform uses cutting-edge machine learning and expert behavioral psychology algorithms to improve people's lives.

Like during SARs Cov-2 or Covid-19, Knoxville company Lirio helps people to improve their perception regarding vaccination hesitancy. They sent over 2.2 million messages encouraging people to get COVID-19 vaccination for the safety of their families and everyone around them.

Theator

A next-level surgical assistant called ‘Theator’. Theator is an AI-powered surgical video solution that helps surgeons assist in surgical procedures seeing what went wrong and immediately assisting with improved anatomical and physiological knowledge.

AI is employed during surgical procedures to read the in-patient procedures and assist the surgeons. Moreover, Theator has raised millions of funds over the 3 rounds which shows the bright future for this company.

CheXpert

cheXpert: chest Radiograph dataset

CheXpert an AI X-ray scanning tool that helps radiologists physicians and clinical staff to better understand the X-rays of complex chronic diseases. According to the innovators, a radiologist took 4 hours on average to understand the X-ray fully while through this AI-powered tool, an X-ray can be fully scanned with a maximum accuracy of 71.6% as per the sources.

We should keep in mind that it is not replaceable by professional clinical radiologists but it could ultimately help the staff to make the right medical decisions.

According to CheXpert, there are 224,316 chest radiographs of 65,240 patients who underwent radiographic examinations at Stanford Health Care between October 2002 and July 2017 make up the CheXpert dataset. It means this huge no. of the dataset is incorporated into the software as an X-ray library, so more advanced algorithms can better scan the next coming X-rays of patients.
