Disadvantages

Sodium laureth sulfate: TRESemme contains sodium laureth sulfate, which can cause drying and irritation. It is a surfactant which can strip away natural oil and moisture from the hair and scalp. This could lead to dryness, brittleness, and breakage of the hair. It can too cause tingling, redness and irritation.

Not Suitable for All Hair Types: It’s not a good option for curly and coarse hair types. This types of hairs need more moisture and care which cannot be full fill by only this shampoo

Long term healthy hairs: The shampoo can provide short term smoothness and shine, but it will fade away after you stop using the product. It’s a temporary solution and also using it for long time will lead to thinning and breakage.

Buildup because of overuse: Some ingredients such as Dimethiconol, glycol di stearate and PEG-45M can cause buildups. Dimethiconol: It is a silicon-based ingredient which can create a layer on hair and lead to buildup if user is not washing their hair/removing the residue before using again. Glycol Di stearate: it is an excellent emollient and thickening agent can make it creamy. But it also works as Dimethiconol for buildups and also for PEG-45M.

Not ideal to use with hard water: Formation of Soap Scum Hard water can react with the surfactants in the shampoo, such as sodium Laureth sulfate. Surfactants are responsible for creating lather and helping to remove dirt and oils from your hair. However, in hard water, they can react with calcium and magnesium ions, forming insoluble compounds. This reaction can reduce the effectiveness of the surfactants, making it more challenging to create a good lather and cleanse your hair properly. Reduced Product Efficacy The minerals in hard water can bind to the ingredients in the shampoo, making them less effective. The shampoo may not be as efficient at removing oils, dirt, and product residue from your hair.
